Project II for this class works with Blender, creating wearables to make Tik Tok filters in Effect House. My first time around I did not have too much trouble with blender aside from the initial learning curve, I did struggle with Effect House, although I was using an old computer (that has since been replaced) that I think the combination of software was too much for, but I found that process very frustration.

Therefore, for my next project I am refreshing myself in the Blender basics and want to create a more complex object than the lab bird or my previous wearables. I want to make a model of my roommate Brody Goose’s cat Odin. I have never lived with a cat before, and over the years I have come to love Odin very much.

Brody’s birthday is coming up as well, so I think it’d be nice to make a digital model that I can bring to the 3D printer on campus, print out a little cat statue and paint the outside. I will try to stylize the model a little bit to make Odin look extra cool, like an anime super cat or something.

To do this I will need to specify what type of file to create in order to 3D print, determine my cost of materials, and the time it will take to design and print. I will talk to Garret in the wood shop to clarify info on printing. I’ve never used a 3D printer before, so I’m excited and looking forward to the new experience and adding that capability to my artistic bag, as well as honoring Mr. Meow and doing something nice for a friend I love like a brother. (:
